Remington Mae is an independant singer/songwriter from the wild mountains of rural Alaska, Remington's music has been shaped and molded by the deep woods, raging rivers, glaciers, and rugged wilderness in which she has been raised. Remington's songs are rooted in old-time music ranging from bluegrass, to Americana, soulful blues, and outlaw country. Remington is a storyteller and her tales are told using organic, rustic, mountain instruments, including banjo, guitar, stand-up bass, mandolin, and fiddle.
Remington grew up fishing, hunting, and embracing all that Alaska is. Her music is born from the quiet solitude that surrounds her life here. The beautiful seasons that ebb and tide in this great land, mirror the many experiences and memories she has made in these mountains and valleys. She is no newcomer to Alaska, or flash-in-the-pan adventurer, like the many who have come before. Remington has spent a lifetime in these mountains, respecting and cherishing all of the many facets Alaska has - beautiful and awe inspiring, yet, also brutally cruel and unforgiving at times. Remington doesn't run to warmer climates when the deep darkness and bitter cold of winter blankets the world around her. She doesn't need or desire the conveniences and frills of town. Nothing comes easy in this place. These challenging, difficult, and extreme conditions have fathered a girl who would have otherwise wandered lost in any other place. She loves the snow, cold, wind, and darkness. Living high on the side of a mountain, overlooking the river valley far below, Remington finds creativity and inspiration by the wood stove in her cozy log cabin.
